Mary Beth Volmer founded Women in Preservation to restore historic maritime structures.

Mary Beth Volmer is leading a group of female volunteers in the restoration and preservation of historic maritime structures. With the motto that “each woman should leave with dirt under their fingernails and a learning experience in their soul,” Women in Preservation are working to restore a lighthouse on Plum Island so future visitors can appreciate the island’s history and natural beauty.
